More ATL!!!

Ok, finishing up Atlanta. Well, there's not much more to tell. The next day we were all verey tired from staying up so late, even after sleeping in. They took me to a part of town called Little Five Points, which is I guess kinda like the loop. It was a really neat little part of town, we walked around and checked out some of the stores. Then we all went back to the apt and just crashed for awhile, watching TV, drawing, just chilling. When we finally got hungry we went to Fat Mike's, a BBQ place. It was pretty awesome. They had a live bluegrass band playing, and it's just a small little place where you order at the counter and find a place if you can (it actually reminded me of a church fish fry). We didn't even bother to look for a place to sit, it was clearly hopeless, and just got it to go. The food was good. And we even got some sweet potato pie for dessert.
Sooo....that about sums up my trip to Atlanta. Not a lot of going out and doing things, but it was so amazingly great to see Alli and Melinda, and I had so much fun, and Atlanta really did seem like a great town. I had no clue it was so nice. It really is quite beautiful and clean for the most part (and houses have lamp posts with real fire in them- what is up with that?).

Hey!
Sorry for the delay in posting anything. So, quickly catching up on my life in NY so far: I literally got off the plane in NY, got a cab to where Kelly was working, and started working. Which is so amazing I don't even know what to do with myself. So yah, I've been working a lot of hours so far, and I'm so incredibly gratefull for that, but more on that and all of NY later, here's some pics from Atlanta, really fast. (I am sleepy!)

Umm, Atlanta: it was so great!! For those of you who don't know, I went to Atlanta to visit two of my closest friends: Alli and Melinda, who moved down there there summer. Melinda was in my class and now works as a stitcher/wardrobe for the Atlanta Opera, Alli was in Nick's class and hasn't found a job yet. Alli, Melinda, Caitlin and I were pretty much inseperateable last semester, so I have been missing all of them a lot, and seeing them again was so great.
Anyway, so I got into Atlanta and Alli picked me up at the airport, and we went to their apt (which is amazing and HUGE by the way, pictures of that some other time) and got on skype, and Caitlin was on! In Vienna!!
Ok, so the whole story is, we all have skype, which is a free internet phone service, but Alli and Caitlin both have isight, which is a built-in camera, so they can have video chats. So I told Caitlin that I would be at Alli's and to get on Skype all the time. And she did! Yay! So Alli and I talked to her for 4 hours while we waited for Melinda to get off work (she had a matinee). It was great! (also-weird side note, Catilin has the same dorm/apt that Alli and Melinda had in Vienna. Weird, huh?
Anyway, Caitlin got offline and went to bed, and Melinda came home, and has a surprise. Her boss decided the night before that Melinda could have the next two days off, Melinda didn't ask or anything, it just worked out perfect timeing that the only two days of the month they didn't need her I happened to be in town. Yay!

We ordered a lot of sushi. Alli and Melinda picked out ones for me that didn't taste like fish. Or were tofu. So I actually enjoyed most of it. Some of them still tasted too fishy.

So this is what it's like to miss summerstock

So I'm leaving NH in the morning. It's very bittersweet to go. I already miss the people, who have been trickling out for the past 2 weeks. I will miss this town and theatre. And the beautiful fall weather and trees, which I'm sure are not in STL.

I got some show pictures from Becky, one of the costume designers here. I'm still missing My Fair Lady, which is pretty upsetting because that show and Evita were my two favorites. Also, just a note, you know how when they change over to the fall line of clothes in August it's just a ridiculous idea to even think of buying a sweater. It is not ridiculous here. Buying a sweater right now seems like a fine idea. It is consistently in the 40s at night. In August!! I really love it here, and I'ven grown pretty accoustomed to the weather, but the other day they were talking about how they need to do any repairs on the theatre before Nov 1, because by then it'll probably be snowed in. I think you get sucked in by the mild summers, stay for the pretty leaves, and then next thing you know you're stuck here in unfathomable amounts of snow. Leave while you can!

So here is Buenos Aires. These videos take too long to upload all of them. Since they never really stop singing in Evita this starts when the music has already started, and unfortunately ends before the end of the song, but you get the main chunk of it.

I got a couple of videos from Jacqe, who taped some songs from Millie and Evita in the booth. The sound and lighting quality are not that great, but you get the general idea. And you get to see how awesome of a singer this girl who played Evita was. Just to let you know, she never, ever warmed up, and would often drink a milkshake before the show. Seriously.
