I've been in California for two months as of today.
I still can't believe it. Sometimes I remember where I am and laugh to myself at how absurd it seems.
I feel like I am constantly waiting for the other foot to drop, for something to happen to ruin this place for me, but so far I've only fallen more in love with it here.
I would have to put it up there with Missouri as one of the top two places in the world to live, according to me.

Day 6: Mountains are pretty! I take pictures of them!
We left Denver early the next morning, on the road to Vegas.
So I'm pretty much just choosing photos at random here. I took a lot, A LOT, of pictures that day. I maxed out all three camera memories. I ate up phone batteries. I stop aiming and spent most of my time yelling about how stupidly beautiful it all was.
Aside from the fact that driving through the Rockies is amazing any day, it was stupidly gorgeous this day. The sun, the snow, the bright colors, it looked fake.
This is the part where I told Nick I was gonna stop taking as many pictures. "I think it's getting uglier."
I would repeat this at least 20 times for the rest of the day, with the camera pretty much glued to my hand.
The rocks are so red!
By the time we got out of the mountains I was almost hoping for something ugly, just so my eyes could take a break. That was not going to happen for another day. Foreshadowing!
